Parking will be available in the lot across from the main gate of the fairgrounds which is located on Court Street/Highway 11. We will have signs and parking volunteers to assist you. Parking will not be allowed on the fairgrounds.
Please note that dogs/pets are only permitted to participate in the walk. We encourage all participants that plan to walk with their dog/pet to make sure that they are well-behaved and are accustomed to these types of events. There will be a lot of activity going on during the event, including other dogs/pets, children, loud noises (music, starting gun, barking, etc.) and other types of activities which may excite your dog/pet. If you are in doubt, we encourage you to consider leaving your pet at home. In addition, all pets will be required to be on a leash, in control at all times and kept away from other participants. Of course, it is also assumed that your will pick up after your pet. We are not trying to discourage you from bringing your dog/pet, we just want to make sure that you use your best judgment as to whether this will be a suitable environment for them and more importantly that the event is fun and safe for all involved.
Elkhorn Oktoberfest Celebration
Be sure to stop by the Elkhorn Oktoberfest Celebration after the run/walk. This event is being held in downtown Elkhorn. All registrants age 21 and over will receive one free drink ticket to the celebration.
As noted on the event website, if you did not register by September 30, 2015 we cannot guarantee you will receive a t-shirt. Extra t-shirts have been ordered and will be distributed on a first come first served basis during race day registration.
Unable to Attend
If you are registered, but unable to attend the event on Saturday, your packet will be available for pick up beginning Monday, October 20th at Peoples Bank located at 837 North Wisconsin Street, Elkhorn, WI.
There will be volunteers located throughout the course and grounds on race day. They will be wearing orange Oktoberfest 5K T-shirts and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Post-Race Comments and Suggestions
Our goal is to make this a fun and safe event for all participants while benefitting local charities. While we have been planning and obtaining input for a few months, this is only our second run/walk event and we hope that you will excuse and be patient with any issues that you may encounter. We welcome any and all comments or suggestions that you may have to improve the event for next year.
Race results will be available upon conclusion of the race and will be posted on the Oktoberfest 5K website.
